YouTube Allowlist

Parental YouTube allowlist: only approved channels and videos can be watched.

YouTube Allowlist gives you full control over what content can be watched on YouTube. Instead of trying to block everything unsafe, this extension flips the logic: ✅ Only videos from approved channels or specific video URLs are allowed. ❌ Everything else gets automatically blocked. Perfect for parents, classrooms, kiosks, community computers, or anyone who wants a distraction-free and safer YouTube experience. 🔒 How It Works 1. Open any YouTube channel or video you trust. 2. Add it to your allowlist using the extension popup. From now on, only those approved channels/videos can play — everything else is blocked and muted. If someone tries to open unapproved content, they will see a full-screen message: “This video has been blocked by YouTube Allowlist.” Audio is also muted automatically — no bypass tricks. 🎯 Key Features Allowlist-based filtering → only approved channels and videos are playable Blocks all other YouTube content, including: Normal videos (/watch) Shorts (/shorts) Embedded videos Filters audio as well — muted + paused repeatedly to prevent bypass Clean and intuitive interface Add channels by: URL (youtube.com/channel/…), @handle, Channel ID (UC…) Add videos by: Full URL, youtu.be links, Shorts links On/Off toggle — quickly enable/disable filtering Working status indicator (blinking dot) so you always know the filter is active Local storage — no accounts required 🆓 Free Version Add up to 5 approved items (channels or videos) Works fully with no time limit ⭐ PRO Version Upgrade to unlock: Unlimited allowlist capacity Perfect for: Schools Libraries Shared workspaces Home parental control Just enter your unlock code inside the popup to upgrade. 📌 Best Use Cases 👨‍👩‍👧 Parental Control 🧑‍🏫 Education – allow only learning channels 🕒 Productivity mode – block distractions 🖥️ Public or kiosk devices 🚫 Prevent autoplay rabbit-holes and suggested videos 🔐 Privacy This extension: Does not track browsing history Does not send data to external servers Stores everything locally on your device Your allowlist stays private — always.
