Made for music practice, language learning and lectures. 🆕 What's New in v4.5.0 ✅ Opens in Chrome's side panel: it stays open while you play, and follows the tab you're on ✅ Instrument tuner: tune your guitar, bass, ukulele or violin with your microphone ✅ Song key and tempo: find the key and BPM of the song in the video, and what you hear after a pitch or speed change ✅ Metronome: tap tempo, time signatures, and a Match button for the video's tempo ✅ "Tune my instrument to this song" when a recording isn't at A440 🛡️ v4.4.0 ✅ Speed, pitch and loop are fully independent: change one and the other two stay exactly as set ✅ Loops play smoothly: no more stuttering or getting stuck when you turn a loop on ✅ Clean pitch shifting: no more crackling noise when raising the pitch ✅ "Now" buttons: set loop points A and B at the current playback position ✅ Keyboard shortcuts: change speed and set A/B without opening the panel ✅ Everything fits on one screen: no more scrolling ✅ Connects instantly and shows your current settings when reopened ✅ Seeking within a video no longer resets your settings ✨ Key Features 🚀 Playback Speed • 0.25x to 4.0x • −0.2 / −0.1 / +0.1 / +0.2 buttons for fine control • Presets: 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 110%, 120% • Click the current speed to reset to 1.0x • Your speed holds even if the YouTube player tries to change it 🎵 Pitch (Key) • Shift up or down by semitones, from −24 to +24 (two octaves) • −2 / −1 / +1 / +2 semitone buttons, plus whole-tone presets (−2T, −1T, +1T, +2T) • Changes the key without changing the speed • Click the current pitch to return to the original key 🔁 A-B Loop • Press "Now" to set A or B at the current position (setting B starts the loop) • Or type a time ("1:30" or "90"), or drag the handles on the slider • Plays all the way to B, then jumps back to A • Never skips to the next video, even in autoplay playlists • Yellow marker shows the current playback position ⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts • Speed up / down: Alt(⌥) + Shift + . / , • Set loop A: Alt(⌥) + Shift + A • Set loop B and start looping: Alt(⌥) + Shift + B • Pitch up/down and loop on/off can be assigned in chrome://extensions/shortcuts • A small on-screen message confirms each change, even in fullscreen 🎸 Instrument Tuner • Open the Tuner tab in the side panel • Presets for guitar, bass, ukulele and violin, plus a chromatic mode • Shows the nearest string and how many cents sharp or flat you are • Turns green when you're within ±5 cents • Adjustable reference pitch (A4 = 430–450 Hz) • Works on any page, not just YouTube 🎼 Song Key & Tempo • Switch the tuner to "Song" while a YouTube video plays • Shows the song's key (e.g. E minor) and tempo (e.g. 120 BPM) after about 8 seconds • When slowed down, shows both the original tempo and what you hear (e.g. 120 BPM · now 96 at 0.8x) • With a pitch change, also shows the key you now hear (e.g. F# minor, +2) • Shows the current note, and whether the recording is at standard pitch (A440) or how far off it is • "Tune my instrument to this song" sets the tuner's reference to the recording 🥁 Metronome • 30–260 BPM with ±1/±5 buttons, a slider and tap tempo • Tap while it plays to line the clicks up with the music, no restart needed • 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8, with an accented first beat • "Match" sets it to the video's tempo at your current playback speed • Keeps clicking while you switch to the other tabs 🎛️ Master ON/OFF Switch • Turn every feature off at once to hear the original video • Turn it back on to restore your settings • The ON/OFF state is remembered 🔄 Automatic Reset on New Videos • When you move to a different video, settings return to defaults • Seeking, looping or rewinding within the same video keeps your settings 💡 Use Cases 🎸 Music Practice • Loop a difficult passage with A-B and slow it down • Move the key to fit your voice or instrument 📚 Language Learning • Repeat a sentence until you catch every word • Slow down fast speakers 🎓 Lectures • Replay the key part of an explanation • Speed through slower sections 📖 How to Use 1. Play a YouTube video 2. Click the extension icon to open the side panel 3. Use the Controls tab for speed, pitch and loop, or the keyboard shortcuts 4. Use the Tuner tab to tune your instrument or find the song's key and tempo 5. Use the Metronome tab to practice in time ⚠️ Notes • Speed, pitch, loop and song analysis work on YouTube only (the tuner and metronome work on any page) • Some DRM-protected content may not be supported • While pitch control is active, the video's own audio is muted and the pitch-shifted audio plays instead • After updating the extension, refresh your YouTube tab once • The tuner needs microphone access. If Chrome doesn't ask inside the side panel, a page opens once to request it 🔒 Privacy • No user data is collected • Microphone audio for the tuner, and the video's audio for the song key and tempo, are analyzed on your device only.
