Overview

Organize browsing with Tab Manager AI for Chrome: see all open tabs, close duplicate tabs, restore, group manually or with AI.

ℹ️ Managing many open tabs quickly turns browsing into chaos. Tab Manager AI for Chrome helps you organize your work, reduce clutter, and stay productive with smart tab grouping and fast tab management tools. Whether you have a dozen tabs, hundreds, or several thousand open at once, Tab Manager AI can organize them in a single click. ✅ Extension works as a powerful browser organizer. You can see all open tabs in one place, group them manually or with AI - up to 10 000 tabs! Close duplicate tabs and restore them when needed. Everything is designed to help you manage your browser faster and with less effort. ☯️ Soft and Hard modes You can setup app in two ways: 1) Soft grouping - logic allows leaving ungrouped tabs if they do not match any existing group and avoiding creation of single-tab group. This is a default option. 2) Hard grouping - logic will organize all open chrome windows under the same profile and will not leave anything ungrouped. 💡 How to start Logic works differently depending on how your browser looks at the moment. Extension automatically detects what you have in your browser and applies the right logic. 1️⃣ If you have no groups, • AI creates new ones, • You can set up either of two - soft (default) vs hard mode. 2️⃣ If you already have number of groups as well as ungrouped tabs, • You can regroup all - it destroyes the current structure and appies new one, • You can add ungrouped tabs only to: ➤ existing groups OR ➤ new groups OR ➤ both options combined. 3️⃣ If you have only groups, • You can regroup all, • You can keep them or remove fully. 📌 Flexible regrouping options Tab Manager AI for Chrome gives you control over how artificial intelligence creates and manages all. You decide whether to keep current groups, merge them, or rebuild everything. ⚙️ Global-level settings: • Allow renaming current groups • Allow complex words as titles • Allow adding to existing groups • Allow closing duplicate tabs • Allow keeping ungrouped tabs Each group can be organized and customized individually. You can control whether AI is allowed to add to a specific group or rename it during regrouping. 👯‍♂️ Duplicates handling Duplicate tabs slow down Chrome and waste memory. The extesion can detect and close duplicates, manage that manually or automatically. ⚙️ Duplicate-level settings: • close duplicates automatically when organizing with AI, • keep the most recent tab, • close dublicate-level window with restore option automatically. 💡 Built for safe and fast tab organization Duplicate tabs are handled locally before any AI grouping request is created, so the tab manager keeps the request small and focused. Groups and ungrouped tabs are organized in a structured way, which improves speed and keeps grouping consistent, even with many windows. ☑️ Built for everyday organization This extension focuses on simple organization and fast management of your browsing workflow. It helps you organize information, restore what was closed by accident, fix cluttered sessions, and keep control as your work grows. Instead of constantly searching or reopening pages, you can manage everything from one place and return to what matters without breaking focus. Clean organization leads to smoother navigation and less friction during daily work. 💻 Session & Settings Tab Manager AI for Chrome also works as a lightweight session manager. You can restore your work after restarts and continue working without losing context or your settings. 📌 One-click productivity tools Everything is designed for fast actions without distraction for streamlining organization and management of your browser. 🌓 Light and Dark modes Extension supports both - light and dark modes. 💡 Performance and privacy • Tab titles and shortened URLs are sent for AI grouping only when you press the button, • No hidden ads or tracking, • No monitoring of browsing activity. 🆕 Release Notes v4.1.0 - 7 October 2026 - Pro is coming: everyone using Tab Manager AI before 31 December 2026 gets a free year of Pro, plus 6 more months for sharing feedback. - Added a Chrome-style ⋮ group menu: colour, name and description (✨ AI fills them in), new tab, move to new window, close, ungroup. - Cleaner list: "+ New tab" rows, a collapsible "Not in a group" section, and "New group" boxes at the top and bottom. - Added 6 colour themes (light and dark) and a light/dark Mode switch. - Updates now install while the extension is closed. - Fixed group descriptions getting lost after browser restarts, and duplicate pages in the archive. 🆕 Release Notes v4.0.7 - 5 October 2026 - Organizing a lot of tabs at once is more accurate. Tabs now go to the AI in batches of 100 instead of 200. The larger batches often came back with some tabs placed in two groups or left out; smaller ones avoid most of that. Organizing several hundred tabs takes a little longer as a result. - The Group, Close and See Tabs buttons in Quick overview now stay the same width. Before, Group and Close shrank a few seconds after opening. - Settings are easier to scan, with more space between sections. - Fixed: "Allow single-tab groups" could briefly look switched on while it was off. It is off by default, as before. - AI requests now include an anonymous random install ID, and whether they came from the popup or the side panel. This counts AI use per install instead of per network, and contains nothing about you or your tabs. The privacy policy has been updated. 🆕 Release Notes v4.0.6 - 3 October 2026 - Search your archive. The archived tabs list now has a search box: type part of a tab's title or address to find it, however many tabs you have archived. - The main search now tells you when a tab has been archived. If tabs in your archive match what you typed, a line below the results says how many, and clicking it opens the archive with your search already filled in. - The archive stays fast as it grows. Archiving, restoring and deleting used to slow down the more tabs you had archived; now they take the same time whether you have ten archived tabs or ten thousand. Existing archives are carried over automatically, and nothing is lost. - Fixed: searching on the main screen also filtered the Auto-archive list, which then showed a count like "15 tabs" above only one row. - Gmail and other Google apps are recognised as duplicates when they are the same page. Opening Gmail from a bookmark and from the Google apps menu no longer leaves you with two copies that are not flagged. Different Google accounts are still kept separate. - The side panel updates sooner when you open a tab. On slow-loading pages a new tab could take several seconds to appear in the list; it now shows up within a second. - Groups now close smoothly when their last tab is closed. Before, they disappeared abruptly and the list froze for a moment, while the Duplicates group closed smoothly next to them. 🆕 Release Notes v4.0.5 - 21 September 2026 - Every row in the Auto-archive lists now carries its own controls: look at the tab, keep it, archive it, or close it. Before, archiving was the only thing you could do from there. - Keeping a tab now shows you that it worked. The row turns green, says Updated, and its countdown moves back to the full period — it no longer vanishes as though it had just been archived. - Opening a tab from an archive list counts as using it, so it stops being stale. That was already true underneath; now the list agrees instead of still showing the tab as due. - Auto-archive now follows the same "Manage tabs from all windows" setting as the rest of the extension. - Undo after organizing puts every tab back where it was, ungrouped ones included. Previously the order could shuffle, most visibly for tabs that were not in a group. - A stray tab whose site already has a group is now filed into it instantly — no waiting, and it no longer uses up one of your hourly AI runs. - Fixed a case where a single group could multiply into many groups sharing one name, and keep doing so on every later organize. - The popup and side panel open faster and no longer flash the wrong theme on the way in. Background photos are about a third smaller, and long tab lists no longer slow the list down as they grow. - Fixed: opening a group's editor and clicking away without typing could blank the group's name. Renaming or recolouring a group in Chrome itself now shows up straight away, and the editor no longer opens off the bottom of the screen on the last group in the list. - Jumping to a tab from the side panel keeps the panel open, so you can work down a list instead of reopening it each time. - The buttons and links at the bottom of the popup stay readable on the lighter background photos. 🆕 Release Notes v4.0.0 - 11 September 2026 - New: auto-archive stale tabs. Tell Tab Manager AI how long a tab can sit untouched — 7, 30, 60 or 90 days — and it tidies those away for you. It is off until you turn it on, and nothing is ever deleted: every tab is written to the extension's own archive before it is closed, restorable with one click or exportable as a bookmarks file. - A new Auto-archive view shows what would happen before you commit: your tabs graded by how long ago you last used them, each saying either when it will be archived or why it will be kept. Pinned tabs, tabs playing audio, the tab you are looking at, tabs inside a group and the last tab in a window are left alone by default. - Tab Manager AI can now live in Chrome's side panel instead of a popup. Docked, it stays open beside your pages rather than closing the moment you click away, and it keeps up while it is open — tabs you open, close or navigate appear in the list without reopening the panel. - Groups can carry a description as well as a name. Press ✨ Describe with AI and one is written from the tabs inside; you see it before anything is saved. Descriptions can be switched off entirely if you only want names. - You choose what language the AI writes in. Group names and descriptions each follow the language of your tabs, your interface language, or stay in English — set separately. - Groups can be renamed and recoloured in one place, and untitled groups can be named for you. Each group now shows how many tabs it holds, which matters most when it is collapsed. - Two questions on first run, asked once and changeable in Settings afterwards: where Tab Manager AI should live, and whether every tab has to end up in a group or the ones that fit nowhere may stay ungrouped. - You decide what counts as a duplicate: exact address, ignoring the #anchor, ignoring the #anchor plus the tracking tags newsletters and social links add, or ignoring everything after the ? — the last offered but not recommended, because many sites keep the page itself in the query string. - Closing duplicates can be undone. The restore list that used to appear afterwards is gone; Undo reopens the closed tabs and puts them back where they were. - A new toolbar icon, drawn at the sizes Chrome actually shows it rather than shrunk down from the store artwork. - Updating is silent. This version adds two permissions — alarms, so it can check in the background, and sidePanel, so it can dock beside your pages. Neither carries a Chrome warning, so there is no prompt to accept and the extension is never disabled while you update. Your archive stays on your own device. 🆕 Release Notes v3.4.0 - 25 August 2026 - Added a search box to find any tab instantly. Click the magnifying glass, start typing, and the list filters by tab title or address as you type. Use ↑ and ↓ to move through the results and Enter to jump straight to a tab. Press / to open search from anywhere, Esc to close it. - Search also matches group names — type a group name to see everything inside it at once — and it looks inside collapsed groups, opening them while you search and closing them again afterwards. - Added a "go to tab" button on every tab in the list. Click it and the tab is activated with its window brought to the front, so you can reach any tab you can see. - Groups are now listed in the same order as in your Chrome window, and you can drag a group by its header to reorder it — the change is applied to your actual tab strip, not just the list. 🆕 Release Notes v3.3.1 — 23 August 2026 - Organize up to 10,000 tabs at once. Large collections are automatically split into smaller batches, with a "batch 3 of 12" progress bar in place of the old spinner — and you can cancel part-way through, keeping the groups already created. - Fixed AI grouping failures on very large tab collections. Big requests could previously come back incomplete and fail; each batch is now sized to stay comfortably within safe limits. - Faster organizing when you already have groups. The extension now sends a short sample of each existing group instead of every tab inside it, so adding a few new tabs stays quick no matter how many tabs you have open. - Updated our privacy documentation to describe exactly what an AI grouping request contains, what is kept, and for how long. Tab titles and URLs are never written to our logs. 🆕 Release Notes v3.2.1 - 15 July 2026 - Added a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y / ⌘⇧Y on Mac) to organize your tabs with AI instantly — no need to open the popup first. Reassign it any time at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. 🆕 Release Notes v3.1.2 - 1 July 2026 - Improved the loading messages during AI grouping: they no longer restart from the beginning on longer operations, with clearer wording for large tab sets. - Improved grouping reliability on large tab collections (fewer failed or malformed AI responses). 🆕 Release Notes v3.1.1 - 1 April 2026 - Fixed several use cases for duplicate tabs and creating new tab groups when there is no groups 🆕 Release Notes v3.1.0 - 22 February 2026 - Added a new group feature to improve tab organization workflows. - Added an expand button for quicker access to expanded content/views. 🆕 Release Notes v3.0.0 - 14 February 2026 - Introduced even faster API v3 - Reduced API payload size to reduce token count and improve response time. - Added new App Settings screen (language, tab scope, and background options). - Added “All windows” tab scope mode (manage current window only or all windows). - Added customizable image backgrounds/themes with UI readability improvements. - Fixed info icon behavior and improved “Other” group description handling. - Improved group description migration/cleanup reliability after re-grouping. 🆕 Release Notes v2.1.0 - 1 February 2026 - Added translations to 25 languages, including English, German, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, etc. 🆕 Release Notes v2.0.0 - 30 January 2026 - Introduced faster API v2 - Reduced API payload size to reduce token count and improve response time. - Fixed "body stream already read" error. - Added duplicate group merging - If AI returns multiple groups with the same name, their tabs are automatically merged into one group. - Disabled undo/redo during operations against accidental clicks. 🆕 Release Notes v1.2.0 - 28 January 2026 - Added possibility of reverting back to a saved snapshot of groups and tabs before AI organizing.
