Overview
Full page screenshots, element capture with transparent background, and region selection — all in one click
Peel captures web pages in Chrome. Take a screenshot of what's on screen, a whole scrolling page, an area you drag, a single element with its background removed, or the page at desktop, tablet, and phone widths in one image. Then crop or frame it in the preview and save it in the format you need. Five capture modes: - Viewport: captures what's currently visible in one click. - Full Page: scrolls and stitches the whole page into one image, down and across for pages that scroll sideways. It also works in web apps where only the main panel scrolls, like a chat or a document editor. You can stop a long capture early and keep what it got. - Region: drag to select any rectangular area of the page. - Element: hover to highlight, click to select, then use the slider to move up to a parent or down into a child until you have the right element. Elements taller than the screen are scrolled and stitched automatically, and a box that scrolls on its own, like a sidebar, is captured with all of its content. - Responsive: captures the page as it is, then at tablet and phone widths, and lays the three side by side on a transparent background. Save the set as one image or as three files, and change the widths in settings. Editing and output: - Transparent background: Peel captures an element on black and on white to work out its true transparency, so soft shadows come through intact. The PNG is ready to drop into any design tool without manual editing. - Hide parts: after picking an element, click any pieces you don't want, like a stray button or label, and Peel leaves them out. - Trim: removes the empty transparent space around an element so the capture fits it tightly. - Crop: trim any capture in the preview before you save it. - Beautify: frame a capture on a gradient or solid background with padding, rounded corners, and a drop shadow, with optional aspect ratios for social posts. - PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF: PNG stays lossless and keeps transparency. PDF saves one page sized to the capture, or splits a long capture across A4 or Letter pages with an optional URL and date stamp. - Copy or download: copy to your clipboard or save to disk, with zoom and pan in the preview. - Retina and wide gamut: captures are sharp on any display, and Display P3 screens keep the richer colours you actually see. Save at full resolution, or at standard resolution for smaller files. Shortcuts and settings: - Keyboard shortcuts: Control+Shift+1 to 4 on a Mac, or Ctrl+Shift+1 to 4 elsewhere, start Viewport, Full Page, Region, and Element. You can give Responsive its own shortcut on Chrome's extension shortcuts page. - Dark mode: the popup follows your system theme, and the preview and settings let you choose system, light, or dark. - Make it yours: set your default format, capture action, countdown timer, and filename pattern in settings. Your captures stay in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Peel needs no account and asks for no access to your websites. Chrome gives it access to one tab at the moment you click its icon or press a shortcut, and takes that access away when the tab navigates. Peel is made by Fluffy Pixel.
