Turn on dark mode for Google Sheets on desktop — a comfortable dark theme that cuts glare during long spreadsheet sessions.

Google Sheets has no built-in dark mode on the desktop web — the mobile app does, but the browser version stays bright white. This extension adds one: open a spreadsheet, click the icon, and Sheets switches to a dark theme. Hours in a glaring white grid are hard on the eyes, especially in the evening or in a dim room. A darker background lowers the glare so you can stay on the numbers instead of squinting at them. What you get • One click to switch on the dark theme — nothing to configure first. • Adjustable look: pick the dark background shade and text color you find most readable. • The theme stays on as you move between spreadsheets and tabs. • On OLED laptop screens, a darker picture can also help save some battery. How to use it 1. Install the extension. 2. Open any spreadsheet on sheets.google.com. 3. Click the extension icon and turn the dark theme on. 4. Adjust the background and text shades until the grid reads comfortably. Switch it off the same way whenever you need the light view back.
