Overview
A beautiful Frost new tab with floating-layers glass aesthetic and optimized performance
Frost – Beautiful New Tab with Floating Glass A stunning new tab experience built on floating-layers design and baked glass performance. See through to your wallpaper with zero live blur overhead — 60% GPU savings on low-end hardware. What's New (v1.4.0) All modals redesigned with big thin typography, hover-only interactions, and boxless layouts that feel seamless. Pre-rendered blur backgrounds replace live backdrop-filter for the same beautiful glass aesthetic at 1/12th the GPU cost. Viewport-aligned glass panels reduce compositor layers, making the extension feel instant on any device. Adaptive tints match your wallpaper perfectly. Core Features Eight beautiful widgets: Weather with live forecasts and sunrise/sunset tracking, Calendar with holidays and streaks, Tasks with progress bars, Pomodoro with daily sessions, GitHub contribution stats, System Monitor with real-time CPU/RAM graphing, World Clock with relative time offsets, and Habit Tracker for daily streaks. Command Bar (Ctrl+K) for global search, bookmarks, and quick access to AI agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Copilot) and Google apps. Zen Mode focus view with motion blur. Background options include Unsplash daily rotations, custom uploads, video, solid colors, and gradients. Optimized to run smoothly on any hardware. All data stored locally — no tracking, no analytics, completely private.
